Color Theory is a collection of paintings and mixed media graphic design that highlight the unique culture in which I was raised. Many things that became a part of my everyday life are a direct result of systemic oppression. Every social disparity I have experienced all share one common denominator - it is the imbalance and inequality that affects African-American people the most. Everything from growing up in a food desert, to overcoming impostor syndrome while at a predominantly white institution, have all played a role in who I am as a person. My work is not an attempt to attract sympathy, but rather a reflection of my reality.
